If there's one thing I know a lot about, I guess this would be it: Flash sites aren't accessible to blind internet surfers, absolutely not! These sites use
good digital images looped around each other to make some sort of video or otherwise produce a working movie from Flash programming itself, and then post it on the pages of their website. There's nothing wrong with this, nothing at all, except of course, they tend to always forget to make the necessary adjustments for accessibility. One thing is, they forgot to rename the animation buttons so as to be read by most screen readers and next thing would be there's not even a short description of the Flash animation on the page. More importantly, I think they forgot to attach with the Flash video the counterpart
audio files!
So how would this be resolved, then? Some would suggest blind internet surfers to completely deviate from a
Flash website and that suggestion may very well be their undoing! I think there needs to be just a few minor adjustments on how Flash websites are designed and developed, such as renaming graphical buttons with alternative text, providing a short description in text, either immediately before or after the Flash video. Also, the sound - please do not forget the sound!
